Celebrations

Celebration trips in Japan

An anniversary, a proposal, a birthday or a honeymoon, planned around the one day that matters.

What we do for you

The day first, then the trip around it

A celebration trip starts from a single date. We decide with you where you want to be on that day, then shape the days before and after it so you arrive rested and the evening is never rushed. For a proposal, that usually means a quiet place, chosen with the venue's own rules in mind.

Many hotels, ryokan and restaurants in Japan publish anniversary or proposal plans with their own conditions, such as flowers, a cake or a private room. We read those conditions, tell you what each one includes and what it costs, and pass your requests on in Japanese, in your names. You pay each place directly, at its own rates.

Temples, gardens and observation decks set their own rules on photography, decorations and tripods, and some ask for permission in advance. We check those rules before we suggest a place. Nothing is promised until the venue confirms it.

How we plan it

  • Built around one date

We place the day that matters in the middle of the trip, away from long transfers and early starts.

  • A table for the occasion

Counter seats, a private room or dinner in your ryokan room, with the occasion and any dietary needs passed on in Japanese.

  • A room to celebrate in

A ryokan room with its own open-air bath, or a hotel room with a view, depending on the evening you have in mind.

  • Rules checked first

For proposals and photos, we read each venue's published rules on decorations, tripods and permission before we suggest it.
