How we coordinate
The driver is at the shinkansen gate or the arrivals level before you clear it. You walk out and the car is there. Nothing to find, nobody to call.
02 · City to city
Gran Class · Green Car · Private Carriage
City centre to city centre, no security queues, no airport transfers. For Tohoku and Hokuriku routes, Gran Class offers fewer than twenty passengers, meal service, and full cabin crew attendance. For Tokaido (Tokyo–Kyoto–Osaka), Green Car.
Private carriage charter
For groups of ten or more, an entire shinkansen car can be reserved, eliminating all contact with other passengers. Available through JR operators on select routes.

Tokyo to Hakone in thirty minutes. Thirty minutes instead of three hours, and Fuji from an angle no road reaches. Arriving at a mountain ryokan from the air also means you arrive rested.

Tokyo–Hakone, Tokyo–Izu Peninsula, transfers to remote luxury properties including Amanemu (Mie) and coastal ryokan accessible only by air or sea.

Three of the world's most sought-after luxury trains run in Japan. Each is closer to a small hotel that moves: its own kitchen, its own crew, its own route. Demand runs fifty to a hundred times over capacity, and ordinary reservations are decided by lottery.
Specialist access
Some operators hold allocations inside dedicated tour packages that sit outside the public lottery. Availability depends on route and season, and short of unusual luck, this is the realistic route for visitors from overseas.
No markups, no commissions
STAYGO charges one planning fee for your group. Everything on this page is then arranged at the operator's own price, and you pay them directly. We do not add a margin to a car, a train seat or a charter, and we take no commission from the companies we work with.
Arranging the hire car and the Gran Class seats is part of Signature. The car fare is paid directly to the hire company, and the train tickets are arranged through our travel partner in Japan, with the fare paid by you directly. Helicopter charter and the sleeper trains are arranged on request on any plan, and a journey built around them is Bespoke.
