The experience
This is a plan for two guests from Anniversary Cruise, which runs private boats on Tokyo Bay. The boat is chartered for the two of you, with a half bottle of Moët & Chandon Impérial and soft drinks on board. A framed photo of the evening is sent to you afterwards.
Mid Blue has three decks and a large rear deck with sofas. In Tokyo it leaves from Hinode Pier or Ariake Pier, and there is also a Yokohama route. The route is not fixed. You decide it with the crew on the day.
Sailings run between 11:00 and 22:00. Later and early morning sailings are possible at a higher rate.
On the day

At the pier
Arrive about 10 minutes before departure. You board and come back at the same pier.

The half bottle of Moët and soft drinks are included. Finger food can be added.

Ninety minutes on the bay
The crew plans the route with you. On Mid Blue, life jackets are worn only on the front deck.

- Prices include tax and cover the boat, the half bottle of champagne, soft drinks and the photo.
- Finger food is extra, from ¥2,750 per person. An anniversary course on Mid Blue starts at ¥11,000 per person and needs a sailing of two hours or more.
- Sailings from 22:00 to 24:00 or from 7:00 to 10:00 cost 1.5 times the charter fee, and from 24:00 to 7:00 twice the fee.
Good to know
- How it is confirmed
- Once the operator confirms the date, it is held for about 7 days. Paying 30% or more of the fee within that time confirms it.
- Cancellation
- 10% up to 31 days before, 20% from 30 to 15 days, 30% from 14 to 8 days, 50% from 7 to 2 days, 80% the day before and 100% on the day.
- Weather
- Boats usually sail in rain. In heavy rain or strong wind the captain may cancel, usually with a new date, and lets you know by 16:00 the day before.
- Language
- The operator does not say whether the crew speaks English. We handle the arrangements with them in Japanese.
- On board
- If you are prone to seasickness, take medicine at least 30 minutes before boarding. There is no cloakroom.
